The Roaming WormHole v1.05 Written by David Proper -=- Copyright 1993 R.C.S.

"Eh? What be this?" - Kinda like the brother to WarpFail.
"Sounds interesting. What will this do?" - It'll really mess up warp
calculations and thos TW database type programs.
"Sounds mean." - Hehe. What this will do is pick a random sector, and change
all 6 outbound warps to random numbers. Hence the WormHole.
"Cool. Hows it setup?" - Like the magority of my other shit.
ROAMWH datapath [/all]
Datapath is obviously a drive:path where your TradeWars 2002 files are.
/ALL is optional. If you give it, then any sector can ahve the wormhole. If
you don't, then things like FedSpace, etc wont get it.
It keps the old data in a save file stored in the datapath.
"I think this has been your shortest docs yet" - Could be. My programs are
very simple. Kinda like my users. :)
Version 1.05 update information:
In version 1.05 I added some auto-detection code. If you are using WarpFail,
then Roaming WormHole will detect that. It will load in the sectors that
WarpFail struck and put them in an avoid list. So the Worm Hole wont turn up
in the same sector. Since if it would your data files would be trashed.
In your nightly/after game event, WarpFail MUST be run BEFORE Roaming Wormhole.
I also did some little cosmetic alterations to make the warp display look nice.
Oh yea, I was supposed to send a "HI" Out to someone in my next release, and
since this is more or less my next release, here it is:
A big howdy goes out to:
The Hyper Speed BBS
(904)871-4441
Sysop: Darrell Kuhn
Co-Sysop :Shawn Smith
Clear down there in Panama City, Florida. How all you people doing down there?
Also a hello to Rick Blackwell for the idea of my Build StarDock utilitie. I
forgot to mention that in the BuildSD docs, so I though I'd bring it up here.
And if anyone knows any of this people, give them a hi from "Dr. Nibble", they
might remember me from my Commodore 64 demo-making days:
Griffin -=- Ultimatum ][ -=- Commander Epsilon -=- Captain Keyboard
Captain Warped -=- Space -=- Rubicon -=- Axegrinder -=- Coroner -=- Mr. Bill
Silicon Bandit -=- Amiga Master -=- Lone Wuf -=- Swayze -=- Edifier
64 Freak
Wow, been ages since I've done a greetings list! I miss my demo making days!
Oh well. I guess I'm happy doing real programs now.
I'll have to revise my greetings list. Include in some of my commen LD callers
that I've talked to on the board.. Well, enough talk from me! Ta-ta!
-=-=- Same generic shit follows -=-=-
So far I haven't gotten jack shit for donations for all the damn programs I've
written for Trade Wars. If this continues I'm just going to stop doing TW
stuff. I am currently working on some registration routines. I'm not writing
thies things for my health ya know.
And for the people who even give a shit, I decided to skip my video digitizer
and go for a faster modem. So you guys can call AOS to get the programs and
not go in debt with your phone company. And so I can start calling LD and
uploading my programs when I first release them so you people can get them
faster. Gee, ain't that nice of me?
So send any money you feel the programs are worth. Or if you own/run a
company, donate hardware to my BBS (like a 19.2 kbp modem!) and get your
company/store name and address posted on my board AND in my doc files!!!
Hows that for some good advertising? I think it's worth it. And if you do
donate hardware, you'll get the next 5 releases free that require a
registration to unlock features. So I think you get something good in return.
Send any donations or hardware to the address given shortly. And for hardware,
don't forget to include any information you want added to my board/DOCs about
your store, like phone number, address, what you sell/do, etc. A full ANSI
advertisement would be great to.
┌────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┐
The following people (accualy PERSON) deserves thanks for sending money in
for one or more of my programs:
11/02/92 : Mike Fergione
└────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
That should be enough. Now the stuff no one reads.. If you like this or
any of the other programs I've done that you have or have seen, please send
me something for my time and testing. I currently don't have a "real" job and
my only income is from my BBS and my programming. Do you know how hard it is
for a 21 year old computer nerd to get a job in a small hick town?
Send any donations, or your own programs that you've written to be placed on
my BBS to:
David Proper
927 Maple Avenue, NW
New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663-1522
Or if you just want to check out my BBS, which has all my publicly released
programs online, give my BBS a call:
The Ace of Spades
1-216-339-4592
300/1200/2400 baud - 24hrs - 7dys
21,000+ files - 130+ doors - 7+megs Gfiles
930megs online - 30+ message bases - Truly Private Email
Adult Section - CMF/MOD/GIF/MID/ROL/VOC/Etc files
Supports the 1st Admendment - Lots more goodies like a SysOp
who accualys answers mail and the pager.
Yea, I also have a Sound Blaster Pro so I can do any audio samples for the
users that they may want.
A quick little thank you goes out to Dan Roseen, SysOp of Nite Owl BBS
206-631-4949. He gave the TW file formats to one of my users that called his
system looking for them. Thanks Dan, we need more SysOps like that who are
willing to help out there users and other SysOps. (You wouldn't believe the
bullshit in this area between the local systems. It's unbelievable)
And of course thanks to Jason Boyd for writting the text file that had the
file formats.
Guess that's the end of this file. Increase the peace. Later.
